UK ISP Plusnet Cuts 18Mbps Business Unlimited Broadband Price

Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 (7:49 am) - Score 488

Internet provider Plusnet Business has cut the price of their entry-level ‘up to’ 18Mbps Unlimited Business Broadband package, which including line rental now costs £14.49 +vat per month for the first 12 months of service (£27.50 thereafter).

Subscribers will also receive unlimited usage, traffic priority (i.e. during periods of congestion traffic for VPN, Skype etc. will be prioritised by the network), a Static IP address, free 24/7 support, an included wireless router (£4.99 +vat Postage), free activation and a 12 month contract. However customers that fall outside of Plusnet’s “low cost area” (i.e. roughly the final 10% of UK premises) will pay a fair few pounds extra for the service.

The ISP also offers a no-contract option at extra cost or a 24 month term at a lower cost (i.e. drops their line rental from £12.50 +vat to £10.50). We believe this new offer, which is available via the link above, is due to run until 5th April, 2017.

I might be missing something but it doesn’t say whether it’s ADSL or VDSL. I’d assume the former.

    1. Mark Jackson says:

Yes ADSL2+, although if the new 18Mbps VDSL2 profile gets adopted then we can see a future where ‘up to’ 18Mbps could mean either ADSL2+ or VDSL2.. at least until the ASA adopts “average speed” advertising or something like that.

  2. Simon says:

They recently cut my service too, no idea why. 6 days into the fault now – still off and claiming per day whilst it’s down!

  3. adslmax Real says:

It doesn’t make any sense at all, for residential it will cost more than the business one with ADSL2+ & phone.

    Home broadband (up to 17Meg) & phone from £20.00 a month in a 12 month contract £6.99 P&P applies

    Business broadband (up to 18Meg) & phone from £17.39 a month in a 12 month contract £6.99 P&P applies

Both prices are inc VAT at 20%

To be honest Business are much better than the Residential in my view.
