The national UK telecommunications and media regulator, Ofcom, has promoted their existing Competition Director, Yih-Choung Teh, to be the new Group Strategy and Research Director. Yih-Choung was previously Ofcom’s Competition Director and replaces Dr Steve Unger in the strategy role.
Yih-Choung previously worked for a strategy consultancy in the telecoms sector, providing policy and strategy advice to public and private sector clients around the world. Yih-Choung has also held an academic research post in the University of Oxford, having completed a DPhil in Mathematics, researching mathematical models of communication networks. He also has an MA in Mathematics and a Diploma in Mathematical Statistics, both from the University of Cambridge.
