Shropshire-based ISP Aquiss has followed the recent price cuts on their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based unlimited “superfast broadband” packages (details) by doing a further discount on the £100 upfront setup fee, which has now been reduced by 50% to just £50.
New customers typically pay from £30 inc. VAT per month for the entry-level 35Mbps (average speed) FTTP tier or £34 for 67Mbps and all of their plans come with half price discounts for the first 3 months of service (e.g. cuts the entry-level package from £30 to £15). The Openreach based FTTP product does not require customers to take copper line rental (i.e. it’s standalone) but you will need to use or buy your own wireless router
Aquiss doesn’t yet offer “ultrafast broadband” (100Mbps+) speeds on their FTTP plans, but this are due to follow shortly. Otherwise it’s very important not to confuse the stable speeds and strong reliability of FTTP packages with those of hybrid fibre FTTC / VDSL2 services.
