The FibreNation (TalkTalk sibling) company, which hopes to deploy a 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband ISP network to cover 3 million UK premises (if it can find enough investment – about £1.5bn), has today appointed Darren Woods as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Belinda Fearnley as its Head of HR.
Darren has previously held similar leadership positions at Wickland Westcott, Hewden Stuart Ltd and Sanitec amongst others. Meanwhile Belinda has similarly held many senior HR and other positions at BCF Consulting, Sky, Barclays UK, Workshire Water and so forth. Both Darren and Belinda will be based at FibreNation’s new head office in Irlam, Manchester.
At present the operator’s FTTH rollout remains largely focused upon the Yorkshire region (based on a £100m initial investment), including their existing rollout to 54,000 premises in York (due to complete this year) and their latest deployment in Dewsbury, with projects in Harrogate, Ripon and Knaresborough set to start later this year.
The Dewsbury rollout is expected to cover a total of 61,000 premises by 2022, while some 100,000 premises will be covered across Harrogate, Ripon and Knaresborough combined.
Neil McArthur, CEO of FibreNation, said:
“I’m delighted to announce these latest appointments which shows our talented team continues to grow. Both Darren and Belinda are hugely experienced in their respective fields. They will help to facilitate the next stage of our growth as we aim to reach our goal of bringing FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) to three million homes and businesses across the UK in the next ten years, connecting our society.”
End.
Workshire Water? (Yorkshire perhaps?)
