Customers of mobile network operator Three UK may be pleased to know that they will now be able to access the NHS’s new video consultation service (provided by Attend Anywhere) and without incurring any excess mobile broadband data charges, which have just been zero rated.
The NHS is currently undertaking a rapid rollout of video consultations via Attend Anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales to help reduce face-to-face outpatient appointments in NHS hospitals.
As part of that Three UK has noted that the majority (70%) of patients using this service have done so via their mobile phone, which without zero rating could become costly as consultations tend to last an average of 20 minutes.
Robert Finnegan, CEO of Three UK and Ireland, said:
“The NHS and its staff are doing an incredible job on the frontline of the fight against Coronavirus. We are happy to support them and our customers in being able to access video consultations regardless of whether they have data allowance or not.”
We should clarify that this is available to all of their customers, including both Pay Monthly and Pay-As-You-Go users. In addition, customers who don’t have any data allowance remaining are still able to use the service.
