Mobile operator Vodafone UK has confirmed that their offer of free access to unlimited mobile data (mobile broadband) for NHS staff and Care Workers has now been extended to include those using their flexible Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) services. Previously only Pay Monthly subscribers could benefit.
At present the offer of 6-months free unlimited data (i.e. until 26th June 2020) only applies to Pay Monthly customers who work for the NHS or as Care Workers, but today’s news makes Vodafone the first UK mobile operator to include PAYG plans. But that’s not the only benefit.
For example, related staff on Vodafone’s PAYG tariffs buying a minimum £10 Big Value Bundle will be upgraded from the usual 3GB of data to free unlimited data, and from 250 minutes to 6000 minutes (this is done for each purchase).
Nick Jeffery, Vodafone UK CEO, said:
“We are proud to have led the way in offering NHS staff unlimited free data and including care workers in that offer. Until today, we were only able to offer this benefit to Pay Monthly customers but we know many NHS staff and care workers choose the flexibility of our Pay As You Go services so we have worked hard to find a solution that includes them.
I am delighted that today we can announce that they too will benefit from six months free unlimited data and 6000 extra minutes. It’s a small thank you for their great work in this crisis.”
In order to benefit eligible customers only need to visit https://keepconnected.vodafone.co.uk and either register their NHS email address (for NHS staff) or their care company’s details (for care workers). Once the details are verified customers they will be automatically upgraded and notified. Vodafone will provision all NHS staff applications and the first 50,000 care workers who apply.
Need to keep em occupied in AE departments afterall.
I am pretty sure that their monthly usage is the same level as it was before COVID19 era. But it looks great for Vodafone from the marketing point of view.
Clearly you don’t understand if you think their usage is the same.
Yes they need all the data they can get to research online the new ermmm outbreak….
