Mobile operator and ISP Vodafone UK has launched a new promotion to help small businesses get through the COVID-19 crisis, which essentially offers them free broadband with unlimited usage and free access to Microsoft 365 Business Standard’s full suite of flexible business tools for a whole 6 months.
The special package, which is open to all small business owners in the UK (including those already on a Vodafone contract), appears to only be available via their Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) based “superfast” 35Mbps and 63Mbps (average download speed) plans – these normally cost £19.17 +vat and £22.50 +vat respectively per month (including line rental, unlimited usage, 24 month term, router, no upfront charge and a static IP address).
Sadly the same offer isn’t being made to those interested and able to take up their Cityfibre based FTTH Gigafast broadband packages, although those don’t appear to be available in a business form via Vodafone. Otherwise the new offer can be taken up anytime in the next 3 months.
Nick Jeffery, CEO of Vodafone UK, said:
“Our role in these challenging times is to keep the UK connected and help businesses return to work. Small businesses have been hit particularly hard by this crisis. By reducing their costs and providing them with our brilliant technology and expertise, we hope to help them get back on their feet and return to growth. A little financial help now, will go a long way in the future.”
End.
Does anyone know if Vodafone Business Broadband has a different contention ratio than Vodafone Residential Broadband when on FTTC?
It isn’t “open to all small business owners in the UK” – they can’t provide my address with anything.
Good luck to anybody trying to order this. I first ordered 9 days ago and still have no idea if or when I will get the service.
I have had to place a total of 4 orders as the first 3 were automatically cancelled due to a glitch, according to Vodafone. The 4th is currently at a stumbling block and it has been suggested that it should be closed down and a new order placed.
This is even after getting past a major glitch in their signup process where it found only a number of incorrect address options for my company, none of them even in the same post-code that was entered.
I guess I should have known it wouldn’t be smooth sailing, being Vodafone.
