UK ISP Pulse8 Broadband has reduced some of their monthly prices and, unlike other providers at this time of year, these reflect changes to their standard pricing (i.e. not temporary discounts). The main change is on their FTTC based plans, although they also offer FTTP and G.fast via Openreach’s network.
As usual Pulse8’s various packages come with unlimited usage, UK support and line rental (where required), although they don’t include a router so you’ll need to use your own (several paid options are offered). The main advantage with Pulse8 is that they’ve long taken somewhat of a risk by offering a short 1 month (30 day) minimum contract term on most of their packages.
The cost of phone line rental is included on their FTTC and G.fast packages, but not on FTTP where it isn’t needed. On top of that we should add that the provider also sells some FTTP packages in new build areas via OFNL’s network.

We have a few other things to point out here. Firstly, Pulse8 don’t display any “average speeds” alongside their packages and so we’ve used their maximum profiles. Secondly, if you need a new FTTC or G.fast service installed (i.e. not a migration) then there’s a £129 one-off charge, which falls to £99 on FTTP (both via Openreach and OFNL). The ISP also has various business plans, but we’ve only listed the residential options above.
prices are far to expensive for what they offer – most other providers are way cheaper.
yep
considering they are just talktalk resllers yeah.
Suppose if you don’t want home grown business then TalkTalk are your guys.
Personally I think those prices are pretty good for the service regardless or what they sell.
totally uncompetitive.
Try to remember that these are 1 month contract terms and often the cheapest alternatives on the same networks come with 18-24 month terms.
Pulse8 charge a lot more in some areas – in my area the only offering is ADSL2+ (no surprise there), but at £28pm not including line rental. Not very tempting. Although to be fair, a lot of ISPs don’t offer anything at all.
As I only need FTTP for a few months it was far more cost effective to go with Pulse8. Their service has been fantastic in every way – excellent communication and the connection (330/50) works perfectly. It costs just a little bit more than NowTV was going to be out of contract but there’s something to be said about getting to Cloudflare in 5ms from Newcastle
+1! I was with them for nearly a year after a horrid time with Vodafone, while waiting for Gigaclear to finally deliver their FTTP service in the village. Can’t rate Pulse8 highly enough – the few queries I had were answered instantly by people who actually know what they’re talking about and they refunded an small overpayment at the end of the contract without any debate at all. Decent bunch of people who do a good job.
