Existing customers of Sky’s (Sky Broadband, Sky Mobile, Sky TV) various UK services are about to receive an early Christmas present or two thanks to the operator offering a variety of gifts to their users, such as free movies, Premier League football, unlimited data on Mobile, and free worldwide calls with Sky Talk.

Naturally, the gifts on offer to customers will vary depending upon what services you take from Sky, which for example means that the gifts for Sky TV customers can’t be taken by those who only have Sky Broadband etc.

Otherwise you can find the full list of gifts below.

Sky’s Christmas 2020 Freebies

A Sky Store Christmas classic: It’s never too early for a Christmas film, and The Santa Clause is a firm family favourite. This year, The Santa Clause is available from Sky Store completely free of charge for Sky TV customers, to keep for many Christmases to come. Simply go to the Sky Store to download The Santa Clause for free between now and 31st December.

– Sky Cinema on Sky One: All Sky TV customers will have access to a new premiere from Sky Cinema – the family blockbuster, Dolittle, starring Robert Downey Jr. The special screening, which usually costs extra through a Sky Cinema subscription, will be available on 26th December on Sky One.

– A feast of Sky Sports: On 26th December, Rangers vs. Hibernian and Hamilton vs. Celtic from the Scottish Premiership will be available for all Sky TV customers to watch on Sky One, while the following day (27th December), they will have access to the PDC World Darts Championships and Premier League action from Leeds Utd vs. Burnley and West Ham Utd vs. Brighton.

Programme schedule

Dolittle on Sky One:

26th December, 18.40

Sports matches:

26th December: Rangers vs. Hibernian, 12.00 – 14.45

26th December: Hamilton vs. Celtic, 14.45 – 17.30

Free calls from your Sky landline to anywhere in the world: There’s nothing more comforting than a phone call home or a catch up with friends on Christmas Day. That’s why Sky is offering Sky Talk customers free calls on 25th and 26th December from a Sky landline to landlines and mobiles anywhere in the world.

Two days of unlimited mobile data: Whether it’s quizzing over Zoom, streaming festive film favourites or video calling far-flung family members, it’s important to stay connected at Christmas. Sky is offering unlimited mobile data for Sky Mobile customers on 25th and 26th December, available to use in the UK.

The reality is that nothing is really free – subscribers end up paying for it in price hikes and over priced TV subscriptions.

Now that’s the festive positivity 2020 is looking for

Nothing compared with the price hike the BBC has imposed on the over 75s

I suspect those will happen anyway, the cost to Sky is likely minimal.

The film/sports will have already been paid for/accounted for and likely feature advertising to try and get people to subscribe to their respective channels.

Free data, during a time when most people will be at home.

Free international calls is the only one where there may be a more considerable cost than normal, but even then voip is quite common now.

“ Nothing compared with the price hike the BBC has imposed on the over 75s” – it was the government that removed the funding. Blame Boris.

Can you use your unlimited data for using a phone hotspot to a iPad on Xmas day.

Only found out about the free calls to anywhere in the world this afternoon in a Sky ad. Bit late now when it ends at midnight on 26th December! Couldn’t Sky have informed their customers by email before Christmas to set up times to call abroad? Not at all impressed. Usual cock-up from Sky. I am definitely leaving next year when this contract ends.
