Fibre optic UK broadband ISP Grain Connect has announced that they’ve partnered up with Stewart Milne Homes in order to bring their 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to new build homes in the small town of Auchterarder, which is situated in the Perth and Kinross region of Scotland.
The Hunter’s Meadow development is a sizeable project for a town of Auchterarder’s size and is adding well over 100 new houses to the area. The good news is that residents of those properties will benefit from having access to a new full fibre broadband network, which is being supported by a one week, no obligation, free trial from Grain.
Customers can expect to pay from £25 per month for a symmetric speed 50Mbps package and that goes up to £55 for their top 900Mbps plan. All of these packages come attached to an 18-month minimum contract term, free installation and an included router.
Richard Robinson, Managing Director of Grain Connect, said:
“Bringing our service to Hunters Meadow means that many more people can get connected up to the fastest fibre speeds, in a time when it’s more important than ever to have fast and reliable internet connections.
Our relationship with Stewart Milne means we can install the homes with fibre before residents move in, which makes it even easier and hassle free. We look forward to continuing our growth in Scotland, reaching new communities, and working closely with forward thinking developers like Stewart Milne Homes to help us achieve this.”
End.
If it doesn’t benefit the existing housing stock in the Area frankly I couldn’t care less.
Something in the region of 125k newbuilds a year VS a housing stock of circa 25 million
I see nothing newsworthy in a ‘ New build estate gets the infrastructure it requires in 2021’
If however Grain have plans to extend the deployment across a wider area of the existing town I’d be more than happy to offer praise.
