YouFibre Connect First FTTP Broadband Users in Stroud and Stockton
Broadband ISP YouFibre has today announced that the first customers have gone live on their new 10Gbps capable UK Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in the towns of Stockton (Durham) and Stroud (Gloucestershire), which have been built with support from network partner Netomnia.
Netomnia itself is currently working to make their full fibre broadband ISP network available to 1 million UK premises by 2024 (here and here). As part of that they’re investing £6m to cover 20,000 premises in Stroud, while the £54m build across Stockton-on-Tees (Durham) is expected to reach 50,000 premises.
Customers in these locations can typically expect to pay from £20 per month on an 18-month term for their unlimited 50Mbps package (£22 post-contract), which rises to just £50 if you want their top 1000Mbps plan. This is very cheap and clearly intended to help grow take-up. A static IP address, Mesh WiFi and phone service are optional (mesh WiFi is included by default with their 1000Mbps plan).

All of YouFibre’s packages include unlimited usage, symmetrical download and upload speeds, a Wi-Fi router, a no price-rise promise within contract and 24/7 UK based support. And there is no install fee, activation fee or line rental.

How much is there 10Gbs product/package?
I mean their
No idea where in stroud this is, but I pre-ordered in June from Stroud, still no word on activation from Youfibre or Netomnia.
So I checked their website again a few days ago and suddenly it says my postcode is not in their plans – it was in their plans 3 months ago, but they have said nothing about why this has changed to not being in their plans now.
I’m up the Slad valley.
I called them today and was told ‘about 6 months’ so summer 2022 maybe.
Perhaps sooner as one of their sales managers lives in Stroud.
And he is pretty keen to get it done quick.
