The ITS Technology Group, which is currently deploying a number of gigabit-capable “full fibre” broadband and Ethernet networks as part of their ongoing ‘Faster Britain‘ project, has today announced a list of ten new locations where businesses are set to benefit from their expansion programme.
At present the ITS Faster Britain network provides gigabit speed solutions to local authorities, business parks, multi dwelling units (MDUs), and wider communities across parts of various areas, such as Scunthorpe, Greenwich (London), Blackpool, Bristol, Hammersmith and Fulham, Tameside and Nottingham etc.
Joining those will be Lincoln, Chorley in Lancashire, and Stockport, Heaton Mersey and Heaton Moor in Greater Manchester, all of which have now gone live with customers already being installed. On top of that, businesses in Accrington and Blackburn in Lancashire, Birmingham, Newark on Trent in the Midlands, and Burton upon Trent in neighbouring Derbyshire will soon benefit following completion, which is expected this month.

As a result of this, ITS said they are currently on track to pass more than 180,000 business premises by the end of the year, having substantially increased their footprint across the North West, Midlands, and London.
Daren Baythorpe, CEO of ITS, said:
“I am delighted that we have been able to provide the infrastructure that will transform the digital capabilities of businesses in these ten towns and cities. These are the latest in a growing pipeline that we have identified, working with our partners, where there is pent up demand for full fibre.
We are proud to have already put a lot of fibre into the ground, increasing our footprint substantially over the last two years. We have also invested in educating end-users about the benefits of full fibre, raising awareness at a national, regional, and local level to help unlock opportunities for our partners.
Our wholesale model gives our partners access to high quality, Gigabit capable connectivity that can be ordered quickly through our portal and API. We pride ourselves on our personal approach that is about working closely with our partners, finding solutions, and helping them to sell more.”
ITS stated that they were also leading on the delivery of 212km of new fibre, known as LCR Connect, across the Liverpool Region Combined Authority. Working with construction partner NGE, it recently announced that the build is now underway with several large sections due to go live early in 2022.
At present ITS is still more focused upon the business connectivity market, although some of their networks do include residential properties too, which can often be accessed by some of their UK ISP clients (wholesale).
Burton upon Trent is in Staffordshire not Derbyshire.
Is that 180,000 premises passed with FTTP or does that include their wireless footprint?
No just FTTP. See the enquiry form at https://www.fasterbritain.com/contact-us/ if you want to know more.
I’m a business in Burton. How do I get it?
Hi David Head for https://www.fasterbritain.com/contact-us/ and provide your details. One of our partners will follow-up. Hopefully we can get you connected!
