Wireless network and IT services provider APC Solutions (APC Communications Solutions), which also runs the Essex (England) focused ISP Essex WiFi, has revealed that they intend to expand into building their own gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based broadband services.
The new approach came to light as part of APC’s request for Code Powers from Ofcom, which is often adopted to help speed-up deployments of new fibre optic infrastructure and cut costs, not least by reducing the number of licenses needed for street works. It can also help facilitate access to run fibre via Openreach’s existing ducts and poles (PIA).
Sadly, we aren’t told much more than that. The provider merely states that they have a general plan to expand both their FTTP and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) network in order to serve more homes and businesses, but that’s all we’re told.
