FullFibre Ltd Add 2 New Towns to their UK FTTP Broadband Build

Network builder FullFibre Limited has today added another two towns across Worcestershire and Warwickshire in England to benefit from their rollout of a new gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network, which aims to cover “at least” 500,000 UK premises by 2025.

The operator, which builds its network as a wholesale platform via Fibre Heroes for other ISPs to harness (i.e. consumers should visit that site to check coverage), initially started their rollout in Leominster (Fastershire project), Ivybridge and South Hams during 2019. Since then, they’ve also confirmed builds for 11 additional towns during March 2021 (here), then a further 13 in Sept 2021 (here) and 19 more during Oct 2021 (here).

NOTE: FullFibre Limited is being backed by multi-billion-dollar infrastructure investment fund Basalt, which owns a majority interest in the company.

The organisation claims to predominantly focus on reaching areas that have been left wanting from previous internet infrastructure builds, across locations spanning “between 1,000 and 40,000 premises.” In keeping with that, the latest additions include Shipston-on-Stour (population of 5,000) in Warwickshire and Bewdley (9,000+) in Worcestershire.

We should point out that FullFibre Ltd won’t be the only gigabit-capable broadband network in some of these towns. For example, Openreach plans to rollout FTTP across Bewdley over the next few years.

Oliver Helm, CEO of Full Fibre, said:

“Fast and reliable connectivity is more important than ever before and at Full Fibre, our main goal is to close the digital divide between rural and urban areas so that all regions across the UK, have equal opportunities. The new service will connect those in Bewdley and Shipston-on-Stour who currently lack access to fast and dependable digital networks to a high-quality service.”

Separately, FullFibre Ltd also reported that their first street cabinet had just gone live in one of their earlier builds – Droitwich Spa (population of 23,500). At the last count, in October 2021, the operator had already managed to cover 50,000 premises and had ramped up to a monthly build rate of 15,000 premises passed.

Apparently they are covering my village of Hatton and I can’t wait for them to start if it’s true!

There’s a big difference between them starting and actually getting connected. During the build you’ll be bombarded on social media and adverts about their unobtainable service.

Let’s hope it’s good when it finally arrives.

    Hello,

I’m glad to see Bewdley will be getting FTTP via Full Fibre.

Is there a date planned yet for when the rollout in Bewdley will begin?

New cabinet in Droitwich. But currently more press releases than connected homes.

You can’t order service from any of their supposed live towns – they don’t have any proper ISPs

Are you gonna keep going on and on? They just provide the network, not the internet service itself.

    2. Avatar photo Andrew says:

Yes you can. Air Broadband are live in Shrewsbury, Leominster and now Droitwich

Not sure what you mean by going on and on Anon – this is my first post. I’m not Mark Done in the other comments though…

Thanks Andrew but they aren’t live in my part of Leominster, i asked them and they said they are planning to but they don’t have any dates for me

Looks like an England broadband build to be fair, Rather than a collective UK one.

    1. Avatar photo CJ says:

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have higher availability of FTTP than the West Midlands and the South West.

      @CJ From Fullfibre ?

I wasn’t complaining at all regarding where Fullfibre. It’s simply my comment on the the use of ‘UK’ when press releases and in this case Marks headline refer to UK deployments or Across the UK etc.
While technically yes its in the UK it’s also only in a small part of it by comparison with say Openreach, Virgin and Cityfibre who are imho actually deploying in the ‘UK’ rather than one of the individual countries.

CJ Also odd to compare the availability in Countries to the availability in counties.

seems like more fibre to the press, where are they in South Hams? Announced in 2019 and nowhere to be seen.
I wouldn’t bank on these guys be8ng anywhere soon.
