FullFibre Ltd Add 2 New Towns to their UK FTTP Broadband Build

Network builder FullFibre Limited has today added another two towns across Worcestershire and Warwickshire in England to benefit from their rollout of a new gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network, which aims to cover “at least” 500,000 UK premises by 2025.

The operator, which builds its network as a wholesale platform via Fibre Heroes for other ISPs to harness (i.e. consumers should visit that site to check coverage), initially started their rollout in Leominster (Fastershire project), Ivybridge and South Hams during 2019. Since then, they’ve also confirmed builds for 11 additional towns during March 2021 (here), then a further 13 in Sept 2021 (here) and 19 more during Oct 2021 (here).

The organisation claims to predominantly focus on reaching areas that have been left wanting from previous internet infrastructure builds, across locations spanning “between 1,000 and 40,000 premises.” In keeping with that, the latest additions include Shipston-on-Stour (population of 5,000) in Warwickshire and Bewdley (9,000+) in Worcestershire.

We should point out that FullFibre Ltd won’t be the only gigabit-capable broadband network in some of these towns. For example, Openreach plans to rollout FTTP across Bewdley over the next few years.

The new service will connect those in Bewdley and Shipston-on-Stour who currently lack access to fast and dependable digital networks to a high-quality service.”

Separately, FullFibre Ltd also reported that their first street cabinet had just gone live in one of their earlier builds – Droitwich Spa (population of 23,500). At the last count, in October 2021, the operator had already managed to cover 50,000 premises and had ramped up to a monthly build rate of 15,000 premises passed.
