Broadband network builder Netomnia has today added the UK towns and cities of Guildford (Surrey), Carlisle (Cumbria) and Darlington (Durham) to their build plan for a new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, which once live will be sold to consumers via ISP partner YouFibre.
The operator, which recently secured £123 million of funding (here), has so far covered around 90,000 premises across multiple towns and they hold an ambition to reach 1 million premises by the end of 2023 (here). A further three locations have today been confirmed under their ongoing build plan.
The first addition is Guildford, where the operator will invest £15.6m and work alongside local civil engineering partner ‘DELTEQ‘ to extend their gigabit broadband network across 52,000 premises (homes and businesses). The second location is Darlington, where £14m is being invested to cover 46,000 premises with engineers from ‘Map Group‘.
Finally, some 44,000 premises across Carlisle are also expected to benefit from their £13m investment with contractor ‘Border Civils and Utilities‘. All of these locations have gigabit-capable rival networks either already present or planned for the future (Netomnia is comfortable targeting competitive areas), which varies from location to location but may include Openreach, Virgin Media, Grain and more.
The service itself is typically supplied to consumers via UK ISP partner YouFibre, which offers unlimited usage, symmetrical speeds, an included Wi-Fi router, free installation and 24/7 UK based support. Customers then pay from £22 per month on an 18-month term for their unlimited 50Mbps package, which rises to £40 if you want their top 900Mbps plan. At present, there’s also a special offer that gives the first 3 months of service for free.
Please hurry up and come to Dover, Temple Ewell, Kearsney areas!!!
Dover was on the “To Do” list and heaps of potential customers here and fairly standard place to build. No FTTP here, just FTTC and most on slow speeds. VM is heavily used in some areas, but this is heads above VM offerings.
