UK ISP Giganet, which offers full fibre broadband services to homes and businesses via several platforms (e.g. Openreach, CityFibre and its own build network), has today launched a new wave of new Business FTTP and high capacity Ethernet products to the Channel market (i.e. telecoms resellers, MSPs and ISPs).
Giganet is currently investing £250m with Fern Trading, which is supporting their effort to build their own full fibre network to 300,000 premises across poorly served parts of Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and West Sussex (here). On top of that, the operator is also continuing to expand the availability of Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) via Openreach and CityFibre’s wholesale networks in different parts of the country, to maximise availability.
However, until now they’ve tended to focus on selling their own products directly to consumers and businesses, but this has today been extended via their new Channel Partner Programme. In other words, other telecoms providers and ISPs will be able to take and resell services over Giganet’s platform.
Paul North, Head of Channel at Giganet, said:
“One of the best things about being a nimble provider means we’re not held back by legacy revenues, systems, or technology.
Giganet won’t be offering any copper-based services, we’re full fibre all the way and so we’re leading with a bold partner programme that’s focused on the rapidly expanding FTTP opportunity.”
The initial product being offered to the “channel” (a common industry term – not related to the Channel Islands etc.) is a Business FTTP proposition over the CityFibre and Openreach networks, designed for the SME market. But more products and services will be added to their portfolio in due course.
Thanks very much for the share Mark! It’s great to see this on here and is much appreciated.
What’s an MSP? I don’t think its what I know as a Member of the Scottish Parliment.
“What’s an MSP?”

Luckily, we’re not a site that talks about digital photography, otherwise it’d be a pain to talk about politics where another one, MP, is both Minister of Parliament and MegaPixel.
Just tried to use their availability checker to confirm fttp availability for one of my customers. It won’t let me ‘reveal’ the results unless I hand over my details and tick the box to agree to their sales team contacting me. Not a fan of that.
