The Institute of Customer Service (ICS) has today published their latest biannual UK Customer Satisfaction Index (July 2022), which this time reports that Tesco Mobile (ranked 4th) was the only telecommunications provider to make it into their ranking of the top 50 organisations.
The research reflects the results from a large online survey of around 10,000 consumers – balanced to be representative of the UK adult population, which asked each of them about their experiences of different organisations (a total of 45,000 responses were gathered). This was then used to produce a score out of 100 for each organisation.
Overall, the “Telecommunications & Media” sector reported another improvement in its general ranking from 75.2 in July 2021 to 76.6 out of 100 today. But at the last update in January 2022, only Tesco Mobile (score 83.9 – rank 22nd), Sky Mobile (score 82.7 – rank 38th) and giffgaff (score 82.3 – rank 40th) managed to make it into the top 50 table.
The bad news is that the latest update to July 2022 only lists Tesco Mobile in the top 50 for telecommunications providers, although the operator did improve their score to 86.1 and now ranks 4th overall. The ICS states that, when looking purely at the telecommunications sector, Tesco is followed by Sky Mobile, giffgaff and Utility Warehouse in the wider ranking, but sadly they don’t provider any scores or data for those operators.
