Technology and network kit manufacturer TP-Link UK has today announced that they’re supplying WiFi and mobile broadband hardware to help support the Good Things Foundation’s aim of tackling the digital divide, which reflects the latter’s plan to set up 5,000 Digital Inclusion Hubs across the UK by the end of 2025.
According to the foundation, there are currently 2 million households that struggle to afford internet access in the UK today, and 10 million adults lack the most basic digital skills. One part of their approach to tackling this is by establishing Digital Inclusion Hubs, which will be deployed in communities to help people facing digital disadvantage, so they have a place to get online and find support.
As part of that, TP-Link has supplied their M7200 MiFi devices for use within the hubs, which are 4G (mobile broadband) powered WiFi routers that can provide internet access for up to 10 devices from a single SIM card. The kit normally costs around £40 at retail.

“We are delighted to be working with TP-Link who have proactively engaged with us to address the issue of digital exclusion. It’s a great example of how those involved in the telecoms & networking industry can come together and help. We’re delighted to work with TP-Link with this at cost donation.”
End.
