A new retail broadband ISP, phone and Pay TV provider has launched in Hull (East Yorkshire) called Octaplus (aka – Octaplus Supercharged), which appears designed to serve UK premises that are being covered by MS3‘s new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network.

MS3 started rolling out a new open-access (wholesale) full fibre network to homes and businesses in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire earlier this year. The operator ultimately aims to cover 500,000 UK premises within the next 4 years (around 2026) and some of their first builds are taking place in Hull, Scunthorpe, Cleethorpes and Grimsby etc.

A number of UK ISPs are already offering products via MS3’s new network (Pure Broadband, ZYBRE, Hull Fibre, Air Broadband etc.) and they’ve now been joined by Octaplus. Customers of the new provider can expect to pay from £35.99 per month for an unlimited 100Mbps (symmetric) package with free installation on a 12-month term (currently discounted to £24.99 per month), which rises to £65 (discounted to £49.99) for their top 900Mbps tier.

Octaplus has also partnered with Netgem to provide Pay TV products to their customers, which cost a few pounds extra per month but include a TV set-top-box and 1 year of free Amazon Prime.

Gladstone Gonsalves, Co-founder of Octaplus, said:

“Octaplus is on a mission to empower homes and small businesses by providing them with Gigabit Internet Speeds, new-age solutions, digital landlines and thus be more flexible with their offerings.

Octaplus has partnered with MS3 in the Hull area to provide gigabit speeds to residents of Hull at a lower cost compared to existing providers. The home broadband plans can be personalised so that you can create the right plan for you. Choose your contract length, data limit, speed tier, and add call packs all at a price you’ll love – as well as receiving a free phone line too. Plus, there are great entertainment packages which mean that you can put on a party or simply settle down and watch a show knowing you won’t be interrupted.”

The provider added that they were currently in the process of “expanding nationwide to create the next generation of internet services“, which suggests that they might offer packages via other fibre networks in the future. Either that, or they’re just indirectly reflecting MS3’s wider ambitions for future network coverage.
