ISP 4th Utility, which is deploying a gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to serve UK homes (SDU) and large residential blocks (MDU), have today announced that their network has now passed 40,000 homes and they intend to expand their headcount from 56 up to 100 over the “coming months“.
We were previously informed that the provider expected to cover 94,000 homes with their new full fibre network by the end of December 2022, so today’s figure of 40,000 suggests that they’ve got quite a lot of work to do in the final couple of months this year. The operator has also reiterated that they plan to “service another 250,000 homes over the next five years” (i.e. roughly 300,000 by 2027).
The Greater Manchester-based business also noted some of their recent achievements, such as acquiring London-based provider Vision Fibre Media, receiving a £25m investment from DIF Capital Partners and opening a new office in Hale.

Tony Hughes, CEO of 4th Utility, said:
“It’s been quite a journey and on our fifth anniversary, it’s important to take time to consider just how far we’ve come.
From the acquisition to gaining investment, to opening our new state-of-the-art office, to all of the things we do to help communities across the UK, what we’ve achieved is testament to the hard work of our incredible workforce.
I’m proud of our achievements but we won’t be resting on our laurels. The next five years promise to be even bigger and better.”
End.
Still none the wiser what their packages cost unless I give my phone number and email.
Lol not just the postcode? It’s insane being this anti consumer. Wonder how low their takeup is
