London-focused broadband ISP CommunityFibre, which is building a Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to cover 2.2 million UK premises by the end of 2024, has launched a new promotion that’s specifically targeted at Virgin Media’s customers in the city (e.g. 920Mbps for £27/month with 1 month free).
The provider, which currently covers over 720,000 premises in the city, has also pledged to keep their prices fixed for 2023. But other than the offer of one month free service, the packages and discounts remain broadly identical to those being offered to consumers more generally.
Prices start at just £20 per month for a 24-month term (£22 thereafter), which includes unlimited usage and a Linksys Tri-Band Wi-Fi route. This rises to £27 for their top 920Mbps tier (£29 thereafter), although there is a small £9.95 one-off setup fee to pay too. Clearly CommunityFibre are banking on converting some of the operator’s disgruntled customer base, which has just been hit by a price hike.
