Liverpool-based network builder and UK ISP FACTCO has decided to extend their existing network reach by signing a new partnership agreement with a fellow alternative network provider, FullFibre Limited. This will enable them to sell services to homes and businesses over both networks.
At present FACTCO has already deployed their own gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to a number of locations – particularly rural communities – around parts of Yorkshire, Northumberland and Durham etc. The builds have often been part-funded by the Government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS).
By comparison, FullFibre Limited, which is being backed by investment from Basalt, has conducted a much larger build and aims to extend their own full fibre network to cover “at least” 500,000 premises by 2025. The operator is currently targeting 80+ towns (34 are already in-build) across parts of 11 different counties (e.g. Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire).
However, FullFibre Ltd typically deploys its network as a wholesale platform, via Fibre Heroes, for other ISPs to harness and this is what FACTCO intends to use.
FACTCO CEO, Lee Murphy, said:
“This is an exciting opportunity to provide full fibre connections to even more homes across the UK. Better broadband speeds are a need, not a want in the world we live in. It’s great to now widen our services to even more customers.”
FullFibre’s ISP partners now include BeFibre, FACTCO, Gigabit Networks, iDNET, Link Broadband, Merula, OctaPlus, Redline, Squirrel and Worcester I.T Services.
