Full fibre broadband ISP LilaConnect (VX FIBER), which recently paused its rollout of a new Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in England and revealed their plan for job cuts (here), has today followed all that by announcing a price increase on some of their current packages.
The announcement didn’t spell out precisely what prices have changed, although we noted that the already exceptionally cheap 1Gbps plan has now increased from £29.98 per month on a 24-month term to £34.98 per month (installation remains free). But this is still incredibly cheap for such a service.
The network itself is currently present in parts of the Staffordshire cities and towns of Stoke-on-Trent (here), Leek (here), Cannock and Penkridge (here), as well as the Essex city of Colchester (here), parts of London (via Prime Fibre), Haverhill in Suffolk (here), Crewe and Nantwich in Cheshire (here), and not to mention their projects in Bristol and Uttoxeter.

A Spokesperson for LilaConnect said:
“LilaConnect has increased the pricing, it is a decision that has not been taken lightly but reflects current market conditions. These changes will come into effect on 3rd July for residential customers only.
LilaConnect’s mission is to make connection easy, and save residential customers time, with lightning-fast download and upload speeds at a low price. Despite the price increase, LilaConnect continues to offer residential customers one of the most competitive price points for true gigabit full fibre broadband on the UK market.
As from 3rd July, the highly competitive broadband packages on offer to residential customers will include £24.98 (250 mbps); £29.98 (500 mbps) and £34.98 (1 gigabit). The length of the contract for all new customers is 24-months.”
End.
1 Gig package increased by CPI+7%
It does not reflect market conditions, it only reflects their poor rollout speed and inexistent takeup
Reflects debt market conditions.
For the 4th time ! Please get your facts straight. COLCHESTER is NOT a Town it is a CITY!
I think Mark is doing it on purpose just to wind you up!
It is a city, but one with very poor availability of FTTP.
Didn’t Colchester Town used to be called St. Botolph’s?
I renewed my contract last week to beat the price rise. I used to get static IP for free but now have to pay for it.
Still happy with the service, 1Gbps symmetrical service and it’s rock solid. Only thing it’s missing is ipv6.
That is cheap for 1Gb/s, zzoomm charges £39.95, but it is on offer for £29.95 at the moment for 12 month, I can understand why they have increased the price,
They pass my house in Cannock. I’ve ended up going with Zzoomm as Lila can’t even provide an install estimate.
