London-focused network builder and UK ISP CommunityFibre, which is rolling out a 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across the city (currently covering 1.2m premises), has launched a special set of two packages for students that come attached to 3 months of free service.
The operator, which is currently aiming to reach 2.2 million premises in London by the end of 2024 – more than half of all the homes in the city (3.7 million), have begun promoting two “9 Month Fibre Broadband for Students” packages that – despite the title – are identical to their 12-month term options. The main difference is that, while a 12-month contract does apply, students will also get the first 3 months of service for free.
Otherwise, the first packages cost from £22 per month (£24 post contract) for a 150Mbps symmetric speed plan and that rises to £27.99 (£29.99 post contract) for 920Mbps. Both packages also attract a £14.95 one-off setup fee and include a WiFi 6 capable router from Linksys. But it is a shame that they couldn’t simply do a regular 9-month term plan, even if the free period does compensate for the inevitable early cancellation.

Feel like they offer 3 months off of a contract all the time. In my area they’ve only installed FTTP in a new building & the community centres, who receive free access. Really bizarre strategy, though I won’t complain when they finally get round to installing Fibre on my street
How come people are all over social tariffs – but this is the same but there are no horrible comments?
Just an observation.
Netgem TV should be also attached to 3 months of free service, for these students!
