Managed Internet Service Provider Wifinity, which typically specialises in deploying WiFi style broadband networks, has continued to accelerate their UK expansion today by announcing the acquisition of yet another provider in the same space – Next Connex – for an undisclosed sum.
Next Connex is more focused on WAN, SD-WAN and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions and will be Wifinity’s second acquisition in 2023, following their gobble of offshore vessel connectivity provider, Vital WiFi, back in July (here).
Wifinity itself typically delivers more bespoke style connectivity solutions to people where ordinary broadband often doesn’t reach, including rural and remote locations such as military bases and holiday parks. The company also provides services to other multi-tenanted environments such as later living communities, education environments, Public Sector buildings, as well as Enterprise broadband and connectivity.

Costas Demetriou, CEO of Wifinity, said:
“We’re thrilled Next Connex has joined the Wifinity group within our Enterprise division. Although we have been working together for many years, this acquisition will enable us to both enhance our product offering and the depth of technical expertise we provide to our customers.”
All of this follows Wifinity’s LDC-backed management buyout in September 2021, which has since seen the business scale its capabilities through acquisitions and other changes.
