Wholesale Provider PXC Add CityFibre’s Ethernet Flex and Expand UK Business FTTP

At the end of last year network provider PlatformX Communications (PXC), which is a trading name of UK internet provider TalkTalk Communications Limited and sells wholesale solutions to ISPs (inc. other network providers), began to make CityFibre’s Business full fibre (FTTP) broadband services available to their partners. PXC has now expanded this and added the Ethernet Flex product.

In short, PXC partners can now sell business FTTP products across CityFibre’s full nationwide footprint of over 4.7 million UK premises (4.5m RFS). Meanwhile, the addition of CityFibre’s Ethernet Flex (EoFTTP) product means that parents can access symmetrical speeds with a guaranteed 200Mbps minimum throughput and the ability to burst up to 1Gbps.

However, much as we said last time, it would be nice to see CityFibre and its partners offering speeds beyond 1Gbps via such business wholesale connections, particularly since their consumer connectivity can already deliver speeds of up to 5.5Gbps.

George Wareing, CityFibre’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:

“PXC is bringing our Ethernet Flex product to even more small and medium-sized businesses, enabling access to a guaranteed, high-quality connection whenever they need it, at a price with an eye on a bottom line. CityFibre’s digital infrastructure is meeting the needs of businesses throughout the UK, from business grade FTTP broadband to tailored and flexible Ethernet options, unlocking growth and innovation nationwide.”

Jenny Harrison, PXC Chief Commercial Officer, said:

“Expanding our CityFibre portfolio with Ethernet Flex and broadening the footprint for Business FTTP brings even more choice to our partners, allowing them to deliver high‑performance connectivity for businesses of all sizes. This builds on the success of our long-standing relationship with CityFibre and reinforces our commitment to providing futureproof, high‑quality connectivity solutions across the UK.”

It’d be a bit more useful to know which ISPs use which aggregators. I have no idea who uses PXC.
