The mobile operator division of supermarket chain ASDA, which is powered by a virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with Vodafone, has just today refreshed four of their Pay Monthly SIM-Only mobile plans (both in 12-month and 24-month minimum terms). At the same time they’ve also remove four of their older plans.
In short, ASDA Mobile’s 5GB (£4.50), 10GB (£6), 25GB (£8), and 100GB (£10) plans – across both 12-month and 24-month contracts at the same price – all expired yesterday (most of these were no longer being sold to new customers via the normal website).
At the same time ASDA Mobile has added a 10GB tiered bundle for £5.95, then 50GB for £7.95, 80GB for £9.50 and 100GB for £12 – across both 12 and 24-month minimum terms. At the time of writing, we can’t see all the new plan details for these because they haven’t gone live yet, but we’ll update that later.

If Asda mobile had branches in all big stores then it might’ve been as successful as Tesco mobile, plus the MVNO partner switch from EE to Vodafone a few years back was also a negative move. Sainsbury’s mobile existed years ago and ALDI mobile in Australia.
