Alternative broadband operator Netomnia (Substantial Group, YouFibre), which has deployed their full fibre (FTTP) network to cover over 3 million UK premises RFS (inc. 460,000 customers), have today announced that their deployment across the Brierley Hill Exchange area of Dudley (West Midlands) has now reached 50,000 premises (RFS).
We don’t know precisely when the original deployment in this area started, although we do know that it originally aimed to improve connectivity for over 60,000 local homes and businesses in the area and was supported by private investment worth around £18 million (c.£300 per premises passed). The latest update reveals that most of their roll-out is now complete, although the build remains ongoing.
The work forms part of Netomnia’s prior goal of reaching 5 million premises by the end of 2027 (inc. 1m customers by 2028), although their future plans are set to be impacted by the consolidation deal with nexfibre’s parents (here); assuming it gets the green light from regulators and delays in deal completion are still very possible (here). Netomnia’s roll-out is currently expected to cover a total of around 3.4 million premises (inc. 500,000 customers) by deal completion in Q3 2026.

“Delivering 50,000 premises serviceable from the Brierley Hill Exchange demonstrates the sustained momentum of our rollout across the West Midlands. As demand for reliable connectivity continues to grow, expanding Full Fibre availability at scale ensures communities and businesses have access to infrastructure capable of supporting innovation, productivity, and long-term economic development.”
