Alternative full fibre broadband operator CityFibre, which has already deployed their 8.5Gbps speed capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to cover 4.7 million UK premises (4.5m Ready for Service), has chosen global infrastructure supply chain solutions provider Netceed to handle their strategic inventory management going forward.

Netceed typically delivers end-to-end supply chain services and integrated solutions across broadband networks, which extends from planning and sourcing through to pre-terminated Points of Presence (PoPs), integrated active cabinets and automated street cabinets etc.

NOTE: CityFibre is owned by Antin Infrastructure Partners, Goldman Sachs, Mubadala Investment Company, Interogo Holding etc. The FTTP network they’re building, which aspires to cover 8 million premises in the future, is supported by UK ISPs such as Vodafone, TalkTalk, Zen Internet, Sky Broadband and many more.

The company’s service will thus be used to help underpin CityFibre’s future network deployments, ongoing maintenance, and customer connections to ensure an efficient flow of materials across all regions and stakeholders.

Rich Katon, Head of Procurement at CityFibre, said:

“Working with Netceed will help us to deliver a more streamlined and digitally enabled materials management model that will drive visibility, resilience and operational efficiency at scale. This partnership supports CityFibre’s continued growth and creates value across the business – improving delivery performance for our customers, strengthening supply chain resilience, and driving disciplined cost and asset efficiency.”

The news does however follow only a couple of weeks after CityFibre revealed that organisational changes could result in a further 200 roles being lost in the near future (here).
