Broadband ISP YouFibre Slash 8Gbps Plan to £50pm and Adopt 24 Month Terms

Internet provider YouFibre, which is the retail ISP arm of alternative network operator Netomnia (Substantial Group) that has covered 3.2 million UK premises with their full fibre (FTTP) broadband network, appears to have significantly discounted their top 7-8Gbps speed (symmetric) package from £99.99 to just £50 per month. But that’s not the only change.

The other notable change is that YouFibre has stopped doing 12-month minimum contract terms and has now adopted 24-month contracts across all plans instead (these remain fixed price). The provider has, in the past, alternated between 12, 18 and 24 month terms, which is not an uncommon thing to see occurring in the wider industry as promotional strategies change.

The providers broadband packages now start at £20 per month for 200Mbps, £25 for 900Mbps, £30 for 1800Mbps and rising to £50 for 7000Mbps. All packages include free installation, an included Wi-Fi 7 router and a minimum contract term of 24-months. Credits to one of our forum members (safcbee) for spotting the change (here).

We should point out that you can optionally still take all of YouFibre’s broadband packages on a short monthly rolling contract instead, but this does significantly increase the package pricing (e.g. 200Mbps goes from £20 to £34pm and 7-8Gbps is £129.99pm) vs their cheap 24-month offers.
