Over a week has now passed since Cambium Networks, which specialised in providing wireless broadband (FWA) and Wi-Fi style technologies globally and to broadband ISPs in the UK, collapsed into administration. But Florida-based Airspan Networks Holdings has now acquired several of the company’s key product assets and hired over 135 of their employees.
Under the new deal, Airspan has purchased Cambium’s point-to-multipoint access with the PMP 450 platform; unlicensed point-to-point backhaul with PTP 670; point-to-point systems for defence applications with PTP 700; millimetre wave point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connectivity with cnWave (pictured – top); and narrowband communications for industrial environments with cnReach.
In addition, Airspan has also acquired the management system and planning software for the acquired portfolio, including LINKPlanner, cnHeat, and cnMaestro. Finally, in terms of 135+ employees that Airspan will take on from Cambium, this is said to include their sales and support resources in the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa, as well as R&D teams in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.

The move appears to be good news for wireless broadband providers in the UK, several of which are known to be making active use of Cambium’s related kit. Financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed currently.
Glenn Laxdal, CEO of Airspan, said:
“Cambium’s point-to-point and point-to-multipoint products are a compelling addition to Airspan’s 4G and 5G wireless network solutions for service providers, defense, and critical communications. We are fully committed to supporting the customers and partners who have invested in these products.
Our successful integration of recent acquisitions, including Corning’s and Jabil’s wireless businesses, demonstrates our ability to effectively integrate acquired teams and products, and provide business continuity, operational excellence, and innovation to customers. We will bring the same focus to this acquisition.”
Cambium Networks was long known to have been facing some serious difficulties, particularly since the global focused corporation found itself being de-listed from Nasdaq back in March 2026 due to delayed periodic reports and SEC filing compliance issues. Shortly after this the Corporation officially ceased its status as a Person with Significant Control (PSC) of the UK based Cambium Networks Ltd.
The Corp’s latest annual report similarly highlighted its financial and listing challenges, with company management expressing concern about its ability to continue as a going concern due to covenant breaches, tight liquidity and uncertain access to additional financing.
By comparison, Airspan says it will enter this transaction from a “position of financial strength and operating momentum“. In the first half of 2026, the company reported $70m in revenue, up 112% year over year, with $152m in revenue for the year ended June 2026, with “strong profitability“. Airspan intends to use this foundation to support investment and growth in the acquired products, customers, and teams.

John Seaman, Regional Sales Director at Airspan Networks, said:
“After 9 rewarding years with Cambium, I’m grateful to continue that journey at Airspan Networks following their acquisition of key fixed wireless product lines.
I was unaware of the extent of the financial crisis brewing behind the scenes—an area within the company few of us on the sales and product teams ever saw. The Cambium I knew was defined by engineering excellence and a relentless focus on robust, reliable solutions. Rooted in Motorola’s tradition of best-in-class PTP and PMP platforms, the flagship PMP 450 and PTP 670 became industry icons thanks to the dedication of the product teams and developers. That same spirit later delivered cnWave, the industry’s most comprehensive 60 GHz solution, yet another platform which thrives in critical infrastructure and industrial markets. Thanks to Airspan, these solutions (and more)—and the talented Cambium teams behind them—will live on and evolve.
The acquisition also enables an immediate restart of production, which had largely halted in Cambium’s final months.”
Customers and partners with questions about the transition are being advised to contact Airspan via email at [email protected].
