Just like last year. Customers of broadband ISP Virgin Media (O2), specifically those who also take their pay TV service and have children, may like to know that the provider will once again be gifting free access to their premium children’s TV channels throughout the whole of October 2026 “at no extra cost“.
The channels, which normally cost an extra £5 per month to receive, include Sky Kids, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nick Jr. Too, Nicktoons and Baby TV. This also includes hundreds of on-demand episodes, which should help during the forthcoming half-term holiday. Customers can also watch on the go through the Virgin TV Go app, allowing them to stream content over Wi-Fi, 4G or 5G across the UK.
Richard Vivian, Director of Commercial Development at VMO2, said: “We know the school holidays can be a busy time for families, so we’re giving customers access to some of our most popular kids’ channels at no extra cost throughout October. With favourites from Sky Kids, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Baby TV, alongside hundreds of episodes available on demand, there is plenty for children of all ages to enjoy. It’s a little extra value for our customers and a great way to help keep the kids entertained during half term.”

If they really want to do something useful during the October half-term, they should encourage kids to spend more time outdoors.
Not a Virgin customer but am on Sky, recently went to leave and they gave us kids for 2 months up to the leave date, thought well its free might as well use it
2 kids, both 7 and under, they never watch it. Prefer watching iPlayer, Netflix, YouTube etc (all obviously with parental controls).
Make me wonder who would actually pay for the kids channels?
