House builder Persimmon has launched a lawsuit against BT (Openreach), which accuses the UK telecoms giant of allegedly owing them £7.2m plus interest for unpaid work as part of deploying new broadband ISP and phone infrastructure on 759 of its developments between 2008 and 2016.

The UK telecoms regulator, Ofcom, has today ruled that mobile operator Lycamobile broken the rules by applying surcharges for EU roaming (these were often higher than the maximum permitted) and applying fair use data (mobile broadband) roaming limits that were lower than the minimum permitted.

A new report from Opensignal, which used crowd-sourced data to examine 4G network performance across 15 of the United Kingdom’s largest cities, has named Bristol as the fastest for mobile broadband download speeds with an average of 28.2Mbps. By comparison Sheffield was bottom on 19.9Mbps.
