Stirling City in Scotland Approves Plan to Build High Speed Fibre Network

The city of Stirling in central Scotland, which is partly wrapped around an old fortress and medieval town, looks set to build a new fibre optic broadband network in the area after the local council approved a new Gigabit City plan.

CityFibre Signs UK Urban Fibre Optic Sharing Agreement with Level 3

After a rocky start TalkTalk appears to be on the path to recovering from last year’s cyber-attack, but not before reporting that they ended Q1 2016 (calendar) with a total of 3,996,000 on-net broadband subscribers (down from 4.1 million six months ago). Elsewhere mobile customers might be in for a difficult transition.

Cityfibre Pick Fibre Optic ISP Partners for Milton Keynes and Northampton

Fibre optic infrastructure developer Cityfibre has today reported their final results to the end of 2015, which reveals that their cable duct and fibre network footprint comprised 743km (2014: 543km) serving 1,200 customer premises (up from 885 in 2014) and turnover jumped by 67% to £6.4m.

IHS Claim Cityfibre FTTP to Cover 20 Percent of UK Homes by 2020

A new report from IHS has said that Cityfibre’s Gigabit fibre optic (FTTP) broadband network will increase its coverage area from “15% of all UK households to 20%” by 2020, which will help to boost NGA Internet connections to 15.5 million. But the figures do require some clarification.
