Ofcom UK Proposes to Tweak One of Openreach’s QoS Targets

Ofcom has proposed to tweak how it calculates one of Openreach’s regulated Quality of Service (QoS) standards for Ethernet and Dark Fibre repairs, which would replace the current “on-time repair” target with a “mean time to repair” target. The change reflects the fact that the operator’s performance has improved, not worsened.

BT Has Claimed No Business Rates Relief on UK Rollout of New Fibre

Back in April 2017 the UK Government allowed broadband networks in England and Wales to claim 100% business rates relief on new fibre infrastructure for a period of 5-years, which is a change that Openreach and other FTTP builders had long sought. So it may come as a surprise to learn that BT has never claimed this benefit.

ITU Preps SDM Standard to Boost Capacity of Fibre Optic Cables

CityFibre Start 10Gb XGS-PON Upgrade of UK Broadband Network
