Fibre and Wireless Broadband UK ISP Airband Preps Expansion

The independent Worcester-based fixed wireless and full fibre (FTTP) broadband ISP, Airband, has announced a new recruitment drive after expanding their existing office space in Kirkham House by acquiring part of the upper floor of the building, which was formerly occupied by training provider CHS.

Over the past few years Airband has secured a number of state aid supported Building Digital UK contracts, such as in Shropshire, Herefordshire, Devon and Somerset. In that time they’ve also gone from being predominantly focused on building Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) networks to deploying ultrafast Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) ones.

Overall the provider has made 64 new hires so far in 2019, bringing the total number of employees to 113 (an increase of nearly 50% in the space of a year) and they’re still growing. All current vacancies can be seen at https://airband.breezy.hr .

Earlier this month the ISP also gained the Worcestershire Works Well accreditation, which is a scheme operated by Worcestershire County Council and designed to support businesses to improve the health and well-being of their employees.

Airband is also being supported by a £16m investment from the National Digital Infrastructure Fund (here).
