Internet provider YouFibre, which is the primary retail ISP outlet for Netomnia’s national UK full fibre broadband network, has quietly begun notifying existing users of their app that they’re preparing to launch their own pay TV (IPTV) product in the very near future. We’re fairly confident it’ll adopt the same platform as Brsk did pre-merger.
The app notification (credits to normanos for the tip) doesn’t reveal much information, except to say that the service is due to support 200+ channels and will come with no-commitment (such language usually reflects a 30-day / monthly term).
The official line from YouFibre is that they are planning to launch a pay TV product “soon” and a pre-registration process is already available via their YouFibre App. But they declined to provide any further details to ISPreview.

However, we think it’s reasonably likely that they will adopt Netgem’s Freely supporting PLEIO powered TV platform, which is precisely what Brsk launched in 2025 before they were fully merged into YouFibre. The reference to supporting 200+ channels also exactly mirrors PLEIO’s current level.
Customers can alternatively buy PLEIO from Amazon for £129, which includes their 4K HDR TV set-top-box, remote control, gamepad and a 12-month premium PLEIO Extra subscription (you can still use the box for its streaming Apps and UK Freely TV channels once that expires). The subscription itself, which adds 150+ channels and 300+ Cloud Games, is usually £9.99 per month, although broadband ISPs that bundle this often do that for a reduced price alongside their hardware.

Meh, just what we need another streaming service
But it is not another streaming service, it makes use of what is already out there, all they are doing is supplying the hardware and unless you are with YouFibre, will not be offered to you.
They all seems to be doing it, I am getting emails from my provider about their TV service, more or less the same thing with the PLEIO, but I just ignore the emails and delete them as it is of no interest to me.
Just updated the App, will be interesting to see the price point.
Easy replacement for and Aging TV. Long lost support for BBC iPlayer on my old Samsung.
Interesting, not the TV package. Don’t really watch it anymore, but the choice of provider.
Yeah I understand that Brsk already had an agreement with PLEIO which I presume makes it easier to spin up on YouFibre, but you would have thought that with VMO2 maybe taking over YouFibre they would have used VMs TV streaming platform.
That’s quite the leap of logic. The takeover was at a wholesale level, not retail – and the integration work required to sell Virgin’s TV packages would be quite something.
Under the nexfibre deal, the retail ISP is included in the sale to but will then be transferred to VMO2. YouFibre continues but as a subsidiary of VMO2 like GiffGaff.
Not that big of a jump that such a subsidiary would want to / be encouraged to use the resources of the rest of the group (like how giffgaff use O2’s mobile network, like how VM techs install giffgaff broadband on nexfibre)
VM already have their Go app for streaming off network, how much hassle would it be to “white label” their Stream box to be “YouFibre TV powered by virgin media”.?
Just found it interesting that if substantial group really thought the buyout would complete, why wouldn’t they.
Substantial Group did agree with the CMA that wouldn’t wouldn’t integrate systems until after the deal is signed off on, but also no need to announce a new TV product until the deal completed either.
Like I said, I just find that t interesting…
