The JustWatch website, which currently acts as one of the world’s largest guides to TV and movie content on streaming platforms, has announced that they intend to launch their own internet video streaming service (JustWatch TV) in October 2026 – starting with the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.

JustWatch TV aims to offer a mix of free ad-supported viewing, transactional rental options, and an ad-free subscription-based option to their c.50 million monthly users. The news was announced today at the Toronto International Film Festival’s new content marketplace, TIFF: The Market.

NOTE: Launch partners for the service include Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street and Vortex Media, among many others yet to be announced.

The new service will be “seamlessly integrated” into the existing service’s Streaming Guide, on web, mobile and TV apps, so users can watch without needing to sign-up or switch to another app. The catalogue they’ll offer is said to be “built on a decade of tracking what 50M monthly users search for, including the titles they can’t find anywhere“.

On top of that, users will be able to request titles directly, helping shape what comes to the service.

David Croyé, Founder and CEO of the JustWatch Group, said:

“Every day, millions of people come to JustWatch searching for simpler ways to watch and discover hundreds of thousands of movies and TV shows. For over a decade, our mission has been to connect fans with their favorite films and shows, particularly the hard-to-find and previously unavailable titles. With the launch of JustWatch TV, we aim to make content discovery, access and engagement even easier.”

At present there are no details on pricing or broadband connection requirements, although it’s likely to be competitively positioned.
