Internet and phone provider PlusNet has today joined TalkTalk by announcing a series of phone and broadband price hikes that will be introduced from 1st October 2013.
The primary changes will see Line Rental (currently £13.99 a month) increase to £14.99 a month (applicable to Home Phone packages taken [and not changed] before May 8th 2013) and those taking the Talk Anytime or Talk Anytime International call plans will shortly pay 50p extra a month.
Elsewhere PlusNet confirmed that they will be introducing a surcharge of £1.50 on all their standalone Value and Extra broadband-only and related fibre optic based broadband-only products (i.e. where line rental and calling plans are not held with Plusnet).
Customers will also now have to give 14 days notice if they want to cancel instead of the previous 10 days and the broadband cessation charge will increase from £25 to £30.
Finally call set up fees (where applicable) will increase to 13.87p and the price of chargeable calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 numbers will change to 8.41p per minute at all times. The price of calls to UK mobiles will change to 12p per minute at all times. Full details about all this and some other charge / changes can be found HERE.
