Budget communications provider Direct Save Telecom has cut the one-off price for new residential line installations by around 40% from £49.95 to only £29.95, which is of course subject to the customer taking out a service linked to an 18 month contract term.
As a result DST said that the standard price for a new installation on a “no-contract” (28 day agreement) service is now also £118, which they claim is still less than BT’s normal price of around £130 (though most of BT’s current broadband and phone bundles include this at no extra cost).
The news follows shortly after DST revealed that over 3,000 new customers had signed up to their £1.95 a month “unlimited” broadband deal (package details), which has occurred over the last three months.
