Cable operator Virgin Media has tweaked the price of their superfast broadband services and related TV, phone and mobile bundles to be discounted for a full 12 months (previously the cheaper price period only lasted for 6 months), which can save you between £60 and £180 a year off the primary Big Bundle costs.
As usual Virgin’s standalone broadband bundles don’t come with any discounts and thus the special offers only apply to packages that are taken alongside Virgin Phone Line Rental, which currently costs from £15.99 per month (or the equivalent of £12 if you pre-pay for a year in advance).
The following prices below generally reflect services with an 18 month contract and paid via Direct Debit, with paperless billing. Each of the packages come with Virgin’s free SuperHub (v2) router, unlimited downloads, Parental Controls (filtering), at least 5GB of free online storage and a free installation, although for some reason the ‘Big Easy’ bundle is an exception and charges £49.95 for standard install.
A SIM Only Mobile Tariff (SIMO), which includes unlimited UK minutes (calls) and texts, can also be added to any of the bundles listed below (NOTE: the £5 option also gives you 250MB of mobile broadband data, the £8 option includes 1000MB and there’s an £18 per month SIMO offer that adds “unlimited data“).

Given that this is ISPreview.co.uk, where we like to reflect more than just the headline, it should be noted that Virgin Media’s decision to extend their discounted price period from the first 6 months to 12 months of service somewhat overlooks the fact that their actual costs have been balanced to adjust for this (i.e. you still pay about the same as when the prices were on the 6 month discount).
