Metronet UK Brings Hybrid Fibre Optic and Wireless Network to Wigan
Monday, November 30th, 2015 (10:44 am) - Score 1,012
The Greater Manchester-based ISP Metronet UK has today announced that their hybrid fibre optic and wireless broadband network is being expanded to cater for businesses in the town of Wigan.
The new network should enable local firms to access broadband speeds that scale all the way up to the dizzy heights of 10Gbps (Gigabits per second). By using a hybrid network approach the ISP claims that its network also delivers quick installations and better prices than the usual path of traditionally costly leased lines.
Kate Rennicks, Head of Property & Acquisitions at Metronet UK, said: “[We have] a significant customer base in Wigan; with customers ranging from large hotels, public sector, retail and healthcare. This recent rollout means that Metronet (UK) now has even stronger wireless coverage across Greater Manchester and we look forward to helping more businesses in the Wigan area embrace the region’s Digital Strategy“.
