Virgin Media to Roll-out Ultrafast Broadband to 4500 Premises in Louth
Monday, January 23rd, 2017 (1:11 am) - Score 1,289
Some 4,500 additional homes and businesses in the Lincolnshire market town of Louth will soon gain access to Virgin Media’s new 300Mbps capable cable broadband and TV service, which forms part of the operator’s on-going £3bn Project Lightning network expansion.
Apparently the deployment has already begun and the aim is to finish the work by the end of 2017. Overall Project Lighting should add an additional 4 million UK premises to Virgin Media’s network by the end of 2019 (2 million of those will be FTTP based), which will boost their national coverage to around 60-65%.
Dr Jo Dutton, VM’s Regional Director for the Midlands, said:
“We’re delighted to be expanding our network to 4,500 more homes and businesses in Louth.
Residents will soon be getting the high-speed connectivity and top-notch TV they deserve.
We urge residents to come together and register their interest – your street could be next.”
End.

It’s been a while since there was an announcement from them about Scotland. Seems concerned about indyref2 🙂
