Communications provider EE will later this morning remove the £25 one-off connection fee from all of their superfast “Fibre Broadband” (FTTC) and phone line rental packages. However the monthly price of their TV and broadband bundles will separately increase by up to £3.
New customers receive unlimited usage, an included wireless router (£7 delivery), free Weekend calls to UK landlines (add Anytime and Mobile calls for +£6.50 a month extra), 12 months of free subscription to Norton Security Premium and if you’re already an EE Mobile subscriber then you’ll benefit from an additional 5GB of data usage on your mobile plan.
On top of that EE adopts an 18 month contract and new customers can also take advantage of a £50 Cancellation Credit if you’re charged for leaving your current broadband provider early. The broadband and phone plans are typically priced as follows (the cost of line rental is included).
Broadband (up to 17Mbps)
PRICE: £21 a month for the first 18 months (£28.50 thereafter)Fibre Broadband (up to 38Mbps)
PRICE: £28.50 a month for the first 18 months (£34.50 thereafter)Fibre Plus Broadband (up to 76Mbps)
PRICE: £32.50 a month for the first 18 months (£40.50 thereafter)
The bad news is that those who also want to take EE’s TV service will need to stomach a price rise. The provider’s standard broadband and TV bundles will be going up in price by +£2.50 extra per month, while the fibre options will increase by +£3.
NOTE: The free fibre connection offer will run until 24th April 2017.
