A few weeks ago Vodafone increased the price of their Pay Monthly Mobile plans by 3.2% to reflect the rising rate of inflation (RPI) and this week customers, who are outside of their contract term, have been hit with a separate increase of between 50p and £3.50 a month (depending on plan).
The RPI hike was expected and is something that other mobile operator’s also observe, although customers have now started to receive another text message about a second price increase. The latest hike applies to older subscribers who are now out of their original contract term, which means that you can either switch operator or upgrade your plan to a different one (this may or may not cost extra, depending upon your needs).
A Vodafone Spokesperson said:
“We can confirm that some pay monthly mobile customers, who are out of contract, will see an increase of between 50p and £3.50 per month depending on their price plan.
They can move at any time to one of our new plans which give them unlimited texts, more or unlimited calls, far more data as well as our new roaming offers. All they need to do is call us on 191 or visit our website.”
Remember that you’ll have to give the operator 30 days’ notice if you choose to cancel.
