Wireless ISP Luminet has today become one of the first to join the new £2.8m Connect Westminster Scheme, which offers vouchers worth up to £2,000 to local businesses (SMEs) in order to help them cover the capital cost of getting a new superfast broadband service installed.
The scheme, which is due to launch in August 2017 and will be focused on the Westminster and the West End Partnership areas, will only offer vouchers if the connection is “business grade” and can offer a minimum of 30Mbps, with the capability of being configured/upgraded to support 1Gbps speeds (suppliers must also be able to complete the work within 28 days).
Sasha Williamson, CEO of Luminet, told ISPreview.co.uk:
“We are totally focused on the London market and pride ourselves on being a local company delivering connectivity to local businesses. For the last ten years we have serviced thousands of companies across London with our wireless and fixed business broadband connectivity.
We are the most customer-centric broadband supplier in the UK, which is evidenced by or leading NPS score of 42 – the top score in the telco segment within the UK. We are also uniquely placed to deliver against the 28-day term – since our launch of our Fibre Air product last year 100% of our installs have been completed within 12.5 days.”
Naturally Luminet has a number of fibre optic and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) style broadband and Ethernet products (offering speeds of up to 1Gbps), which they hope will be able to meet the needs of local businesses.
