Small and medium sized businesses (SME) on the British overseas territory of Gibraltar, which sits on the southern end of Spain’s Iberian Peninsula in the Mediterranean sea, can now get access to symmetrical broadband speeds of up to 200Mbps via GibFibre‘s fibre optic (FTTH/B) network.
The new provider, which is a corporate focused division of the more residential orientated local ISP GibFibreSpeed (A.J. Sheriff Electrical Ltd.), currently offers three packages from £35 +vat per month for ‘up to’ 100Mbps (10Mbps upload) to £189 for 200Mbps (50Mbps upload) and the top symmetric 200Mbps option is priced on request.
A Spokesperson for GibFibre told ISPreview.co.uk:
“At Gibfibre we understand the requirements of Small & Medium businesses and the need for future-proof technology that is affordable. Based on our Next Generation GPON technology, these fibre data circuits allow reliable delivery of intense multiple bandwidth services, featuring low latency and high-availability.
Our packages include up to 200 Mbps Symmetrical service (200 Mbps Up / 200 Mbps Down) .These packages provide the fastest browsing, download and upload times primarily designed for companies that have a requirement to send and/or receive large amounts of data.”
Apparently Gibfibre, which has already deployed over 100km of wholly owned fibre-optic infrastructure around Gibraltar to cover pretty much everywhere, will soon launch its own competitive voice service to complement the expanding portfolio.
