UK ISP TalkTalk has today decided to introduce a round of Christmas discounts on their standard (up to 17Mbps) and faster fibre / FTTC (up to 38Mbps) broadband packages, which will be available to order by new customers until early in 2018.
As usual all new subscribers will receive unlimited usage, included phone line rental, a wireless router and various other features (e.g. network-level Parental Controls and Internet Security). The ISP also adopts fixed price plans, which they say means “we’ll 100% guarantee your broadband price will stay the same throughout your whole contract” (excluding boosts and other add-ons).
Customers are then given an option of taking out either a 12, 18 or 24 month contract term, although our focus below is only on the terms that attract the new discounts. Luckily this time around TalkTalk has decided to extend their discounts to the longest 24 month term, although we generally advise consumers to avoid locking themselves in for 2 full years because a lot can happen in that space of time.
Fast Broadband (up to 17Mbps down / 1Mbps up)

Price: £30 per month for an 18 month term (£38.50 thereafter)
Customers can also add one of TalkTalk’s TV boxes to the same packages for a £25 one-off charge, although for an extra +£7 per month on top of that you can take their TV Plus option that adds 30 premium entertainment channels and allows you to record up to 180 hours via an enhanced set-top-box. On top of that if you need a new line installed then there’s usually a one-off charge of £85.
