Cable TV and broadband ISP Virgin Media has quietly boosted their existing range of service discounts by temporarily removing the £35 one-off set up fee from all fixed line packages with a 12 month contract term, which affects everything from standalone broadband to broadband + phone and triple play bundles with TV etc.
The downside is that they’re only doing this until 11:59pm on Sunday 23rd February 2020. The move is unusual since we tend to see “free set up” offers being applied to specific product sets, rather than across the board.
The benefit of this is perhaps best felt on Virgin Media’s broadband and phone bundles, where existing discounts have already reduced the monthly price.
Interesting that for the first 12 months that the +Phone packages are cheaper than broadband only. So even if you never use/don’t install the phone its still cheaper (as long as you remember to cancel).
Current prices on VM at 11:00
M50 £37pm
M50+Phone £28
M100 £42pm
M100+Phone £33
For orders up to 23rd order phone as well with no origami in 12 months..
The packages which include landline have been cheaper for years, and VM knows that some people will keep the phone after the 12-month contract ends.
USWITCH currently have an exclusive offer for Virgin Media M100 and Phone Line for £25 a month and free activation on an 18 month contract.
Interesting to see VM testing the waters in slightly different ways.
The market is changing so we can expect evolution in their offers.
The main reason for the lowering of prices is the increase of 4g with useful data allowances. Right across the board prices are lowering because it is now a credible option for many.
Well done to 3…
