The Internet Telephony Services Providers Association, which represents the UK VoIP phone industry, has today revealed their shortlist of finalists for their annual 2020 ITSPA Awards event, although given the rising industry focus on domestic IP voice alternatives it’s frustrating to see that there’s no consumer category.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 30th April at SeaContainers in London.
Eli Katz, Chair of ITSPA Council said, “It is great to see the prestige of the ITSPA awards continue to grow in its twelfth year. This can clearly be seen by the standard of this years shortlisted finalists and entrants. The ITSPA Awards are a fantastic must-attend event with industry coming together to celebrate the successes of the year. I look forward to meeting everyone on 30th April.”

May I be the first to congratulate Voipfone on winning!!!
Yes, it is frustrating there is no domestic category. I suspect Coronavirus and working from home will result in more folks wanting to use VOIP. With my employer I can use Skype for Business but it is junk IMO. In particular, it is unusable calling my main customer in the USA – the audio is just completely screwed up.
My recommendations for what its worth. I use SIPGATE for incoming calls as it is free for incoming calls, you can port your number and it supports 999 calls. For outgoing calls I use LOCALPHONE which I really like and is very cheap and reliable. It also has some great features that you can use when travelling. I pay just over £1 for 800 mins to the USA.
Hardware wise, Polycom SIP deskphones are great and dirt cheap used on eBay. I also have Siemens Gigaset VOIP DECT phones which work well.
